Happy Birthday to Lois Walfrid Johnson, who celebrates her birthday on November 23rd. Born and raised in Minnesota, Lois was a public school teacher and an instructor for Writer's Digest School. She has written three enormously popular series, the ten-book Adventures in the North Woods series which takes place in Minnesota and Wisconsin, the six-book Riverboat Adventures series set on the Mississippi River, and her most recent five-book Viking Quest series.

She has been honored with the Gold Medallion, the C.S. Lewis Award for Best Series in the year it was published, the Wisconsin State Historical Society Award for Distinguished Service to History, and five Silver Angels from Excellence in Media. Lois and her husband, Roy, are the parents of three married children. They live in Minnesota and work together on her novels.
