Lisa Bullard You Can Write a Story!
Trick or Treat on Milton Street Smooth and Rough
Lisa Bullard was born on August 10th in Waco, Texas, one of three children. When Lisa was quite small her family moved to Minnesota. They lived in several cities, including Bemidji and Mankato. Wherever they were, Lisa was a familiar face at the public library. She read a great deal and then organized neighborhood “productions” of many of the stories she read. Lisa graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, and then went on to work for sixteen years in publicity and marketing for several publishers.

Eventually she decided she would rather focus on writing her own books. With a natural curiosity, she enjoys writing both nonfiction and fiction. Her Animal Opposites series was given a Teacher’s Choice Award. Her picture book Trick-or-Treat on Milton Street won a Children’s Choice Award and, along with Not Enough Beds!, is a big favorite with kids. Her book You Can Write a Story! A Story-Writing Recipe for Kids is based on the successful techniques she uses during school visits and has been applauded by many teachers.

Lisa lives in a little white house on a corner in Minneapolis with her tailless cat and more books than she can count.Read more about Lisa ...
