Happy Birthday, Natalie M. Rosinsky! Born on March 26th, this CLN member and Minnesota resident has written many nonfiction books, including Sarah Winnemucca (2005), Jack the Ripper (2004, Lucent Books) and her newest series on the history of several Native American tribes.
Natalie grew up in Brooklyn, New York, on the same street that Betty Smith made famous in A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Brooklyn College and earned her master's and doctorate degrees in English from the University of Wisconsin in Madison.
In 2000, her article about puzzles in Cricket magazine, "No Cross Words Allowed," won SCBWI's Merit Award for the year's best nonfiction article.
Sarah Winnemucca was a 2006 Spur Award finalist, as well as being honored at the National Book Festival and in the subject's home state of Nevada.
