I love speaking to a wide variety of audiences—from leading entertaining story times for three year olds to presenting to adults who are interested in writing for children. With young children, we read one or two of my books, do fingerplays and movement activities, and talk a bit about what it means to be an author and illustrator. With elementary age students, I conduct writing workshops, and go into more detail about the elements of story writing, using examples from my own work and from books they may be reading. Audience participation is key—and makes our sessions lively and fun.
